Mary Hooks Slocumb b. 10 Feb 1760, in Bertie Co, daughter of Thomas Hooks. She married Ezekiel Slocumb b. 1760 of Wayne Co. She d. 6 Mar 1836. Mary Hooks Slocumb had the following brothers and sisters: William, Thomas, Hillary, David, Charles, Susannah, Fannie (Watkins) and Leonia. The Honorable Charles Hooks was a member of the new Congress. Ezekiel and Mary Slocumb’s oldest son, Jesse, was also a member of Congress.
