Apart from genus Panthera, the fishing cat is one of the more interesting wild cats. Native of South East Asia and India, this cat has webbing between its toes to assist it in swimming and diving. Its razorsharp claws mean that contact with prey equals capture. Superficially resembling a large (very large) housecat, it is actually one fierce fighter. There is a story of a captured fishing cat breaking through a partition and killing a tame leopard twice its size.
