Ha - True Red: M17

Km. 101 East Negev Desert

What is the true color of Ha nebulae? Pink? Pinkish? Brownish-Red? Reddish-Pink?

Since I got the Baader 7nm Ha filter - I knew one of my first objectives would be to give myself an answer..

So here it is.. And it's RED.. Simple, deep, pure - RED, as seen well in this combined image, made of 12 exposures of 3 min. each, through the Ha filter, of M17 - the beautiful Swan Nebula.

The image was shot from the east of the Israeli Negev Desert only this morning, at 3:30am.
