Santa Catarina Street, Porto

Porto

Every afternoon the cars are prohibited (except taxis service to the hotels on the street) and this is the sight outside the front door to our hotel, the Grand Hotel Porto. BTW, the hotel is a sight to see inside. It is 130 years old and looks like it did inside when it opened! (One can see the pictures displayed inside the hotel)

Hi Jim, with those pictures I nominate you an Special Honor Citizen of the Porto Town, home of the Portuguese country.
Centuries ago, when the kings and their ever trusted counselors set the moorish Lisbon town as the Capital, people of Porto set up a regulation, the King or any member of the Court could not stay in Porto more than 48 hours, just to keep the usual sanity of Porto town.it ever was respected, kings knew Porto people would sack them out after those 48 hours.
I fully agree with and you know why...
