2/5 - Fire Extinguisher

Canton Tx view map

This image, like yesterdays, was shot yesterday. I had an idea for today but spent most of it sitting down sick. I decided to give it a go tonight and after about 30 useless frames I gave up. Hate not feeling well enough to shoot. So I settled on this which was close to being yesterdays shot. This is an antique fire extinguisher. Many thanks to Shannon for the use of her hand to hold it although I think it very fitting as she is a professional firefighter.

February is Black and White month for many of us PADers. Check out Gary Winters PAD page or Bob Townsend's Topic for a list of those participating.

I like these shots too, with inverted SPs. This one has two, the holder of the object and the photographer. Well done!

Very interesting - I especially lke the very smooth tones in the hand. Hope you are feeling better soon.

I have heard of these fire extinguishers. I believe they are antiques and are made of glass and filled with a fire suppressing liquid. They are meant to be thrown at the base of the flame if I"m not mistaken.
I read your comment on what makes a good b/w on someones gallery yesterday. You said that a good b/w should contain the blackest black, and the whitest white within the image. I had never heard that before but it makes sense to me and that is what I will strive to do.
This image has the blackest black, and the whitest white. I like the inverted SP. It has a fair amount of good detail. It would appear that you are in a campground standing in front of a trailer with a slide out unit.
