These buildings rising out of the desert, as if feeding on the oil below, have a complex status - representing both the best and worst we have to offer; aspiration and achievement on one hand, brittle pride and wastefulness on the other. In its incomplete state Burj Dubai is reminiscent of a Hopper painting, Tolkein's Orthanc, and a ruin from an alien or post apocalyptic civilization. Thank you for your powerful images.

Your goals are astronomical, your project is stunning. Just the concept images were enough to take my breath away. If you can pull this off, Dubai truly will be the 8th wonder of the world.
