As the days lengthen and spring return to the northern hemisphere, along the length of Roaring Fork mosses are turning green again. For now, most of the rocks are still mantled by the red-browns and yellows of the mosses' dormancy but here and there chlorophyll is increasing as the season of life and growth returns. In a few weeks these rocks will be covered with the vibrant greens that make this stream so unique.
