The light was poor (thickly overcast) and I got out to Cades Cove around 2 pm. Got a few large bucks, one an 11 pointer. But this this guy was having a foot chase with three does who were saying “no”. He ran them away from me to the opposite end of a field. They turned and ran back in my direction crossing right in front of me. The buck was so close I had to zoom down to 420 mm from the 680 mm I had. The buck, in this shot, had to jump across a small puddle and a wet area and I caught him as he leaped.
