Bear Cub Gets a New Lease on Life

Northern New Mexico

This is a photo of a young "fattened" bear cub who was released today in the mountains of NM
He was brought into "The Wildlife Center" as a starving cub last year and through the work of the
rehab center was healthy enough to be released into the wild today with a second cub. The cubs are
expected to go into hybernation within days.

I apologize for not getting to everyones pictures over the last week. I've been traveling in NM since
early Thursday morning, and trying to catch up with family members in NM. Met and spent a day
shooting with Gayle and Breland at the Bosque del Apache ,many pictures to come from there.
I hopefully will be back in full swing on Thursday. VR -BJ

Beautiful animal. The mothers are often killed by males if she tries to defend her cub. I enjoy your stories that accompany your pictures. Voted.

Such a neat shot. Hopefully, there was enough to eat to tide the cub over the hibernation. Is that a tracking devise forward of the ear? Great work. Vote.
