Francis Ford Coppola's sprawling 1979 Vietnam War epic, based on Joseph Conrad's novella 'Heart of Darkness'
The last pic from Snowshill Manor - I saw this skull lurking in a corner, illuminated only by the candle-light behind it and was immediately reminded of Marlon Brando's portrayal of Captain Kurtz and Captain Willard's (Martin Sheen) first encounter with him in the tunnels and corridors of Kurtz's hideout deep in the Cambodian jungle
Loved this film when it came out - superb cinematography, fantastic soundtrack and a beautifully adapted modern retelling of Conrad's story. There are some great quotes as well- one of my favourite has to be from Dennis Hopper's photojournalist: "He likes you because you're still alive"...brilliant!
