So there I was on Sunday evening just getting on with stuff at the PC, when there was a pop! noise, the PC went dead and up from the case wafted a cloud of smoke which smelt what I can only describe as acrid burning...a case of terminal hard disk drive I'm afraid.

Luckily, I back up all my documents and photos religiously to external drives so there was no loss there, but my OS was fried and all my apps deader than a dead thing. Bugger! And that's what's kept me busy the past few nights, trying to install the OS and re-install all my programmes. And I've not been helped by the fact that my ISP has been playing hide and seek with me at the same time.

The pic above is from earlier this evening as I was installing the last of the software - my office looked more like a hospital operating theatre than a comfy place to do photo-editing in, but there you go...

Anyhoo, hopefully I'm back (touches wood...) and will catch up with you soonest
