La Popa

The monastery of La Popa is perched on a hilltop 148 meters above Cartagena. Four priests still live on the upper floor of the complex. Locals are said to walk up the steep hill every morning, past 14 crosses representing the stations of the passion, for mass in the monastery's chapel. The inner courtyard, a beautiful place of tranquility, and the spectular views of the city make La Popa a "must visit".
