Finally the hummingbirds are collecting in mass at BeauxPoint for the last two months there has been only one or two hummers visiting the feeding stations or the flower having nectar. Now more and more are arriving into this area...eather due to have flown farther North than normal or now working their way North from the Gulf. No matter why these little birds are good practice with a camera so our reflexes will be sharp when the Fall/Winter birds arrive in the thousands of thousands to North Alabama.
Please note not all pictures are sharp and crisp in color due to the nature of these little fellas runing from shadow to open sun in a split second, but each documents the skill the "flyers" display will seeking food and protecting themselves from harm. I rarely ever use a flash but instead observe when natural light is right for "shooting" this minature professional highspeed pilots of the air.
