Rain over the Bass Rock

North Berwick

The white on the island and the cloud of white dots around the island are gannets (seabirds).
This is one of the largest gannet colonies in the world.

Great! I would love to go there once more (and now with camera).

Dramatic light and a spectacular impression of bird activity around the rock.

We have a gannet colony close to where I live and I love to go there and photograph them in the breeding season.
This photo is great - excellent capture, especially how we can see the gannets all flying.

Good heavens. What an extraordinary location and a striking image. The black rocks put me in mind of a cruising sea monster to boot. V
