Coaming Rim
Starboard, aft coaming rim, prepped for bedding of extrusion; Teak oarlock mount in place. |
Oarlock mount detail -- locks about 15 inches aft of the front of the engine box. |
Trex "extrusion" milled on table saw, planer and shaper, about 5/4 by 4/4; kerfing needed to make bends. |
Extrusion dry fit, starboard side. Pedestal later removed. |
This stuff takes tons of clamps, because of the kerfing: every 6 inches as a minumim separation. |
And, tons of bedding to get good distribution; lots of squeezeout up top, but the legs needed a second pass. |
Detail of a cleaned up section of the finished installation. Should I paint this or leave it "retro?" |
 Aft starboard extrusion, completed. |
Last detail before initial sea trial (the sheer guard can wait): Stainless keel guard under the bow; more 4200 work. |
HIN stenciled on coaming rim, and Dremeled in place. Strong side lighting brings out the HIN. |
