The largest of the Royal Reception Rooms, was originally decorated with tapestries woven in the 1680's and these now hang in Rosenborg Castle. In their place are 17 gobelins, a unique example of contemporary decorative art, created by artist Bjorn Norgaard and woven in Paris. These gobelins were a gift to Queen Margarethe on her 50th birthday in 1990.
