The line on the left on the ground behind the cowboys marks the wall of a building that existed at the time. The window behind the Earps was to a room shared by Doc Holliday and his girlfriend "Big Nosed Kate". Kate was eye witness to the shooting but left town right afterward and did not testify at the trial where the Earps were aquitted of murder.
