The name translates "The light of dawn." Really love this. I'm not sure it jives perfectly with Galle's description. I'm pretty sure I saw this azalea blooming at the Greensboro, NC, Arboretum in the hot dry early June of 2015--and profusely--under the deep shade of a huge Willow Oak (internal to the feeder roots I suspect). 'Banshin' was near by and extremely similar but blooming 10 days earlier.
