Stylophorum diphyllum

Stelloh garden, Hendersonville NC

Wood Poppy, Celandine Poppy. Good companion plant for azaleas and rhododendrons, growing well in the same conditions. Has a 1" brilliant yellow flower and grows to about 1'. Self-seeds and spreads vigorously in good conditions, but is easily controlled by uprooting for transplanting or give-aways. We grow it intermixed with Virginia Bluebells (Mertensia virginica); a nice combination.
