Byodo-in Temple in Hawaii

A scale replica of a temple built in Japan over 900 years ago. This temple was completed in 1968 without the use of nails.

I went here a couple years back and it was so beautiful.
it was quiet and just what i needed.
thanks for the pictures.
I reccomend the CD's. and the incense. ^_^

Most people don't know this... but if you visit the temple, buy some fish food from the gift shop. Don't feed the fish with the food. Instead, pour some food into your outstretched hand and stay perfectly still. Watch as the sparrows and doves fly to your hand and eat the food while perched on your fingers. INCREDIBLE! Make sure a friend has his/her camera ready. The best place for this to happen is the bridge that is located between the temple and the gift shop...on the gift shop side of the pond.

I worked at the Byodo-In Temple for 3 years and seeing these pictures is so wonderful. I have pictures of my own, but I haven't seen the swans in so long! Thanks!
