About the UV filter, its *lack* may explain the blue cast. Sorry I wasn't clear on the first post.

Funny, I actually like the empty space, especially because it is nicely framed by the tree on the right. Did you use a UV filter? That may explain the blue cast. Nice picture.
There seems to be too much empty space on the right, but probably too much to crop. Closer to the cabin probably would have been a bit better. Interesting shot tho. The mountains also has a blue cast.
