my two favorite subjects for trying out new lenses
I had to clone out my grey card in the lower left
as seems often the case, the shot with the color balance card in it was the winner
defocus control was set to the rear detent for this aperture
Hey Artichoke,
Nice picture! The 135 DC is probably my favorite lens for foreground/background pairing shots; I think this type of photograph, that is to say one with an in-focus foreground subject presented against the foil of a fairly well-magnified yet slightly out of focus background,is captured easily and well with the 135 DC lens. I think this photo's a good demonstration of how to approach social photography with a medium tele indoors...some bounced flash, slow shutter, stopped down to f/4,and the right type of lens on the camera. Nice example for the 135 DC and how to use it to make an interesting picture!
I also love some of the beach genre scenes you've done with the 135 DC; you do well with the teles 135 and 200,and the new 105 looks promising image-wise.

Great shot! Love both expressions. I voted for this one. Please stop by my galleries when you can. Thanks.
