Titleist 3

This might look like a simple shot of a golf ball, but it isn't.

I started the day off by taking a few shots that I thought were perfect for my theme. It wasn't until hours later that I realized I didn't have a memory card in the camera (it was sunny and bright outside so I didn't notice the "no card" warning in the lcd). By the time I was able to shoot this ball as a standby it was already dark. So, I put it in my back yard, flipped on the porch light and set it for a long exposure. I wasn't happy with the result.

I went back inside and picked up my G2. I then set the timer again on the camera and once I heard the shutter open I used the flash from the G2. On this shot I actually used the flash twice, once from the front, high and right. The other from the backside.

Overall I think the shot is boring, but I'm just happy to keep the date/numbers theme going.

Great story! This venue is so cool to exchange things that happen in our lives.

Allen ... what a hoot of a story! I can idetify. And at the end you came out well. Did you do anything else on Saturday besides try to shoot the golf ball? .

I'm not sure, Pall. I'll have to check that out. Thanks.

It's a fine picture to me - and very well done considering the situation you were in.
btw:
BTW: Don't you have a C.fn-2 on your Rebel - one which prohibits shooting without CF-card. I got in the same situation as you once, and quickly changed the setting of C.fn-2 to not get in that situation again - shooting like hell not knowing that the card wasn't in the camera :-)
