We lived in Pendragon on the way up to Stanley Fort in the early eighties. I miss it a lot!

Just wondering whether the prison is still there.

Visited Stanley Market regularly in the early eighties. Did the market with the girls, before lunch in a small back street shop selling deep fried chicken legs, a quick walk along the beach to the Tin Hau temple at the end then back on the old bone-shaker bus to Central!

Sadly, very different now. Full of drunken louts watching football in crowded bars with one exceptionally nice restaurant there. It was sad to see how it had changed.

I loved Stanley. I lived in Stanley Fort and used to take my children down to the market. The Vendors used to give them sweets, apples, Lychees, and all sorts. They loved it and used to get quite a haul.

This picture is taken from either the small temple on the shore in Stanley or St Stephen's beach - the houses at the top are in Chung Hom Kok on Cape Road and Cape Drive. The beach on the bottom right no longer exists - it is covered by a road (pedestrianised) behind which are bars, restaurants and apartment buildings
