Served with the Scots Guards 81 to 84 in Stanley Fort , loved my time in HK , remember lying on the beach at Repulse bay on Xmas Eve wondering why I kept hearing Xmas songs on the radio . Taking my wife to HK When I retire 2017 , really looking forward to it

Excellent pictures of HK ! How I wish I've been in Hk when you've got those fabulous pictures in 60's & 70's. My first trip was on 2002 and really a lot has changed compares with my recent visit this August 2012, 10 years after. If not asking too much, will you do a favor again, this time, to publish HK pics taken from 40's & 50's. Thank you very much!!!

oh so familiar places but things have been rapidly changing over time, seems that you are trying to trace back the old footsteps and see what have been changed or not... :-)

I first was in Hong Kong in '87. I stayed for a month. I went again in 2000 and could not believe the difference. I went again in Oct 07 and could not find the central pier!!! Thats because it was moved!! wow! changes! I mostly remember and cherish the '87 trip. I went in '07 to revisit that time. Thanks for posting these photos. I really would like to see more.

How extraordinary - just about to visit HK for New Year and staying in a friend's flat at...77 Robinson Rd, flat 23 can actually be seen in your pic (the one with all the plants)! Great photos Tom

Its a big differnce when you compare harbour views of the 80s and now.But fortunately there are good things still unchanged

I lived in HongKong 1962-63 and went to Glenealy elementary. You mention Glenealy at one point but I can't find any pictures of it. I just returned from a trip to China ending up with two days in HongKong and tried to retrace my steps from McDonnell street to Glenealy, but too much has changed.Your pictures do bring back the memories however!! This allows my son to see the difference of what it was then to what we saw this past week! Thanks for sharing!
