The best photos show (or cause) controversy.

Whoever did this has no understanding of the man, or his past. He and his family suffered terribly at the hands of the nazi regime as did so many others.

For example, his own cousin was taken away and killed under Aktion T4 for having down syndrome, he was pulled out of seminary and drafted into the Luftwaffenhelfer (schoolkids made to move ammo up to anti-aircraft guns, a prime allied target, ie they were used as cannon fodder).
His family had to move several times to avoid persecution under the nazi regime for their religious beliefs, which his father said could not allow him to support the nazi philosophy.
He refused to participate in the meetings etc required of teh hitler youth at risk to his life and he later deserted to his home, where the allies had set up their HQ, was interned as a POW and was released after the war, where he returned to seminary once more. He was captured during his desertion (punishable also by death) by two german soldiers, however luckily they did not wish to become murderes and decided to let him go, reporting that he was injured and unable to fight anyway.
He has worked tirelessly to put to an end the bigotry and sectarianism around the world, has forged new relations between christianity and the worlds other religions, in particular the Jewish faith, to the point where he has excluded some antiquated terms and phrases from the catholic liturgy as they are historically insensitive to jews.

Where I live sectarianism has torn our lives apart. Pope Benedict XVI's message is very positive and it brings hope that one day the hatred will be gone and we will be at peace.

Worst Nazi ever. Pretty damn good photo though - what a find! Texture is amazing looks like his eyes are wrinkled!

Oh dear, someone is very unhappy... and I don't blame them.

This just seems wrong!

that is a very impressive find ...I have to think about it...
I don't think that Joseph Ratzinger was a nazi, I think some people get things mixed up extra ordinary
is this poster to be considered as a piece of art? don't know either.
