Thanks for your words Phil! Everyone should have the opportunity to visit once in a lifetime a place like Isla Holbox. It is an Oasis of Peace! No cars, sandy streets! My soul really rested there. Had a priviledge to interview a wonderful man, who had worked for Mexico City’s Symphony Orchestra. He had settled to Holbox years ago. He doesn’t use anymore shoes or a watch – and he catches his own food by fishing from his small boat. What a life!

I love the play of light and shadow on the curtains, the bed and the body -- everything resembles a zebra. If stretched out on one of those beds and photographed yourself from the waist on down, the image could have been more abstract and added a touch of humor as well to the photo. A self portrait need not always show a smiling face. The smile would have been on the viewer's face instead.
