Coronado Beach
"Consistently voted one of America’s finest beaches by The Travel Channel, Coronado’s beaches glisten year around due to the mineral Mica in the sand, while gentle waves caress the shoreline.
Whether you’re looking for a romantic island getaway with your partner, or a fun-filled family beach vacation, you’ll find the idyllic beach paradise in “The Crown City” and neighboring regions.
From the shores of Silver Strand State Beach to the tip of the Coronado Municipal Beach, you’ll find plenty of wide open sand, gentle waves and gorgeous views."

Note by Walter: This beach is almost south facing and protected by Point Loma in the background, and thus has no current or waves to speak of.
This makes it popular with hinterland families, as the kiddies are less likely to get pulled out to sea and eaten by sharks, or pulled into the dark abyss of the Pacific by giant Kraken.
