Seattle 2005

What's with this truism about the Seattle Rain Festival, reputedly held annually from January 1st through December 30th? During nine days in Seattle, the North Cascades and the Olympic peninsula, there was nary a drop of rain or snow to be seen. Nothing but lovely sunshine, and on this particular day, Dec. 10, 2005, the temperature in Seattle hit 51 degrees! Beautiful day. Now we know that all this talk about rain is simply to keep non-Washingtonians from discovering how awesomely beautiful and progressive the entire State is, and wanting to move enmasse.

Another former resident, looking at photos and missing Seattle (and the "It rains all the time" image is totally to keep people away!).

Arizona is nice, but there's no weather here. There are no seasons. It's just always sunny. Which is nice if you like that, but I miss Seattle. I miss culture. I miss green.

I miss it in Seattle. Sure wish I could move back.
