On Madeira Drive...the Volks Seafront Railway is in the background.
Sept 2005 march & rally petitioning the Secretary of State John Prescott to grant permission for a new stadium to be built at Falmer for Brighton & Hove Albion, who lost their century old home at the Goldstone Ground in 1997. Played at Gillingham about 50 miles away in Kent for a few years, and have since been renting a tiny council ground/athletic stadium locally at Withdean. Sussex celebrities including Des Lynam and Norman 'Fatboy Slim' Cook, and several high profile past Brighton players attended. Permission was finally granted July 2007 but building the new stadium will take several years.
