Macro

Another double posting day again. Same item, two different shots, one high key, one low key. Which one stays, you decide.

I've been playing around with my beloved macro lens today, as you can see, and have today discovered how to squeeze a little more macro out than was originally intended by Mr Canon! Nice!

For a clue to today's piccy, it's something that parents always seem to have to nag their kids to use. This one's brand new and totally unused!

I took a whole series of shots with the "new macro" of one particular item and put them into their own gallery which can be seen by CLICKING HERE!

Canon EOS 10D ,Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM
1/200s f/22.0 at 100.0mm iso200 with Flash full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Go back to the main gallery page & look at this thumbnail... to me it looked
like a shot looking down on a tropical beach from a plane. Wow, who knew a
toothbrush could be so amazing? Well done here Ian.

Sigh ... macro ... more macro than one person should be allowed to have...

sigh...

Nicely done Ian..

I like this one the best ... it's more abstracted here. The bristles almost look like some bazaar organic creature! Very interesting concept .... and very well done.

My vote on this one for sure - the other one is more obvious, this one looks like you're showing us some strange items submerged in water.
Clever and extremely well done.
PS: I'd appreciate if you could send me this lens of yours - I really want it :-)

That is one sweet lens and you're putting it to good use.

Yes this one for sure! I would never have guessed it if you had not given us a hint.

Guest 28-Apr-2004 18:55
great, as usual! :)

It must be a sea urchin type thing....but why would you want your kids to use THAT??

I like this one better, of the 2, it's more abstract and almost looks underwater.
