My dogs comfort me every day, even when they make me feel guilty for going out.

When I visited my mother today I felt the link to yesterday's photograph. This toy cat comforts my mother in a nursing home. My mother's beautiful cat died earlier this year aged 22 years. The two old ladies comforted each other.

Right now this toy cat plays an important role in my mother's life.

We all need the something or someone to comfort us. Do you?

PS. Since taking this photograph my mother has died (March 2010). This "cat" comforted her right to the end.
