The camera on an iPhone 3GS does not have a great dymnamic range hence the result here. The camera could not reproduce the pool of light and shadow with good average exposure. The effect however was interesting.

With a little processing to sharpen the image and adjust the curves the end result is worth keeping. In fact images from iPhones are developing into an artform in themselves.
