The original image was taken on a grey and cold winter's day at Blackheath in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney.
This is an experiment. I looked at each group of colours and by working on the colour channels grossly exagerated the colours as well as dramatically shifting the black point.
It didn't look like this however the texture and colours are much interesting than the orginal image. This cropped version of the original image represents about 20% of the original image area. I knew this would "roughen" the image given I used a Canon 40D the image sensor for which gives much less headroom for cropping without image deterioration.
I used this image as an exercise to see how post production could improve a flat image without over processing the image. Whether I have over-processed the image is in the eye of the beholder.
