Though 13 years in Northern California has been turning me in to an S.F. Giants fan, I was born and raised near Philly, grew up with Mike Schmidt, Steve Carlton, and Larry Bowa, and suffered through the many bad years and some great years as well with the Phillies. During my recent visit to Florida to see family, I also caught a Phillies Spring Training game at the Phil's home field, Bright House Field in Clearwater Fla. The temperature was 80 at game time. The Phils, who wore green uniforms in celebration of St. Patirck's Day, wound up losing to the Toronto Blue Jays 7-6, but it sure was fun watching big league ball in a small park.
