Looking for inspiration...

I was looking today at the works of a painter
that I like very much: Paula Rego
(that sketch I am looking at it's not one of her works though,
but it's her in the sketch)
She once said something that I found very inspiring...
"I was very scared and a bit daunted!
But to find one's way anywhere one has to find one's door,
just like, Alice; you see.
You take too much of one thing and you get too big,
then you take too much of another and you get too small.
You've got to find your own way into things..."

Sometimes we all need a break to search for some
inspiration and our own "door"...

What a cool shot! Almost like looking into a mirror...of course, you are much more
appealing to the eye than the subject in the sketch :-) Very creative work!

C'est bien gentil à toi , ce gars là n'est pas moi. Mais le visage du papier et la position de ton visage donnent une belle expression.

I love the sketch and the way you are intently looking into it and becoming one with it. The written words are wonderful too and powerful as your image is. Thank you for sharing both the picture and the words and introducing me to Paula Rego.

I have been coming back to this image to understand what I like about it. I don't like just saying great image. Part of the joy of a picture is discivering something. It's the hands. They mirror each other, yours and the drawing, and that connects you. It isn't simply a photograph anymore, there is a connection represented by that gesture. From it the energy flows.

What make this photo amazing, is the expression on your face, even if its almost not seen..this shot its youres completely..u put here 3 things from u..-yourself-the drawing from your hands-and the photo also made by u..In this way your shot has a really calm and balanced harmony..

I am hanging around.Silent with your secret. And many others. That I may or may not share. It will depend upon what you want to see in our relationship. If this (life) was colored beautiful or handsome my audience would be relentless and unforgiving.Suffocating me with their prying inquiries. As to why this or that may have made a mark on my canvas. And of course, they think they have the answers.Because someone has writen an opinion which flavours their eyes.I am more discrete than that.I value my integrity as much as you do yours. Not everyone is my friend. And ,I, like yourself, prefer certain company. That is why I am looking as I am,to you.Speaking (between) our minds with a degree on intelligence and curiosity.Actually,I am pleased that you have come this way.To discuss (y/our) questions. And to admire each other's idiosyncrasies and expressions. You are more fortunate than I.A part of my soul is nailed to the wall.Crucified within this frame. You are free.Move.Create.Live.

Great idea and well done, Ana. Beautiful use of light, as usual.

Great intimate shot -- and I love the drawing and quotation, too! I also like the contrast between the sharpness of the picture itself, and the softness of _your_ face.... (No crazy paradoxes, today, I'm afraid!)
