Washington's Pandamania

The pandas took over the streets of Washington, DC, during the summer of 2004. One hundred and fifty of them were on display from May through September. I am a Cumberland native and as such I grew up near the canal. I wasn't quite walking distance, and when I was younger it was certaintly far enought that the mother would not have me riding the bike. Now that I'm older and out of the house though I enjoy spending time along the canal (both biking and walking). I enjoyed your pic's and thought every one might be interested in the page I just put up athttp://www.wigfield.org/canal/ . These are pictures taken along the canal in the Cumberland area.

We think this site is GREAT, but where are the rest of the Pandas?! We love how they make Washington D.C. brighter and it gives us all something to look for when we are driving in the car! fun times, but we need to see the rest of the shots and addresses so we may look for our favorites! thanks so much for having this street art!!

These pandas are great! I've seen 148, so I'm still missing two. If you happen to come across Pandulum and The Hike that Saved the C&O Canal, will you post those too? I've looked everywhere for them, but I haven't had any luck.

The red, white and blue panda has a popular song depicted in the notes. Can you figure it out? Pamela painted it. Her husband and Marine just returned from Iraq unharmed. Every panda has a story.

Love the Pandas and how they brighten the city and get the children excited about art and fancy. The yellow one is Choo Choo, which is French for.....

My favorite is the Hide and Seek panda at 1300 Penn near the National Theatre and Starbucks, across the street from the Ronald Reagan Intl Trade Center. Very bright and cheerful. The DC Commission of the Arts will auction off these Pandas in October. Your chance to get one.
