Eeeh, it seemed like a good idea at the time. As did all of the other shots from that day which I now look at and think "Meh, whatever..."
Edit from August 2023: I think I may have become a bit blasé about shots like this. Yes, the shot itself is very pedestrian, but occasionally over the last year I've looked at the ocean views around this part of the world and thought... "Wow. Just... wow." When it's part of the background (as it has been for me for around a decade now) it starts to be taken for granted. But I think of places that I've lived at in the past and start to appreciate just how beautiful the scenery is around here.
Overseas, people often assume that everyone in Australia live with the beach just down the street, probably courtesy of TV shows like Home And Away. For most Australians, that's not even remotely the case. Yet, here I am. So yes, the shot may be "Meh", but the view really isn't.
