Sandon Point Beach, Illawarra

Looking out over the ocean from behind the Sandon Point Surf Lifesaving Building.

Eeeh, it seemed like a good idea at the time. As did all of the other shots from that day which I now look at and think "Meh, whatever..."

Edit from August 2023: I think I may have become a bit blasé about shots like this. Yes, the shot itself is very pedestrian, but occasionally over the last year I've looked at the ocean views around this part of the world and thought... "Wow. Just... wow." When it's part of the background (as it has been for me for around a decade now) it starts to be taken for granted. But I think of places that I've lived at in the past and start to appreciate just how beautiful the scenery is around here.

Overseas, people often assume that everyone in Australia live with the beach just down the street, probably courtesy of TV shows like Home And Away. For most Australians, that's not even remotely the case. Yet, here I am. So yes, the shot may be "Meh", but the view really isn't.

This view reminds me of Galveston, Texas. There are always ships on the horizon. Nice lighting and composition here. V

The light creates a feeling of calmness. Great lines and perspective. V
