There are some locations that never let me down. If I want a bit of gritty inner urban style, I can usually find it around Belmore. And here again, it's delivered as promised.
I got off a conference call with the US around 02:00. Since it was so late I thought about heading out and getting some night shots, especially as I could hear distant thunder rumbling which of course came with the promise of lightning. Unfortunately it came with something else; before I could leave, at around 02:15 it started raining. Hard. This wasn't all bad as I wanted to do a particular night time shot when the ground was wet anyway. However it didn't need to be raining when I took the shot so I decided to get an hour or so's sleep then head out before dawn.
At which time, it was still raining. Hard.
I went anyway. The shots from my primary target are OK, but I think I can do better by risking a longer exposure with a lower ISO, so I'll come back to that one again. This was my second backup target, the first one having to be aborted when it was unexpectedly blocked from the position that I needed to shoot from. So the rain-swept urban pre-dawn, complete with spray-can "tags" from some talentless little ****s on the billboard opposite, it is.
Since this is St Patrick's day I suppose that in theory I should have shot something with an Irish theme but I'm thinking that the majority of PBase already has that covered. Besides, I can imagine my Irish visitors being heartily sick to death of the clichés of leprechauns and Guinness hats by now, so I thought that I'd give them a break.
But hey, at least I waited until the light was green! (Yes, I know I had to do that to get the red taillight blur that I wanted, but still...)
