Just over a month ago I cussed out Dymocks Booksellers pretty heavily. In fact, they did me a favour. They did themselves none, since it merely reinforces my lack of inclination to buy from them again, but they did me a huge one.
Most of these books are about to hit the recycle bin. Not the classics, perhaps, and not the general interest books; those I may try to flog off for a pittance through a flea market or garage sale, more to prevent the waste of them than to get the meagre few pesos that they may yield. The non-paperback classics in particular aren't in a bad condition nor are they badly bound, and they can feel like you're reading an original edition.... but you aren't. They're just special series knock-offs.
But the computing textbooks... those would have been discarded over time, replaced by current version ones at maybe $60 to $90 a pop.
That, however, is no longer necessary, nor is all of the cluttered shelf space that these books took. And why? That's in tomorrow's PAD.
(Incidentally, this shot was taken in my light tent. What I lack, however, are decent lights to use with it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.)
