Hmmm, what to shoot today... I'm feeling in a Jeffrey Smart mood, with the minimalism cranked all the way up to Max. (Needless to say I'm not claiming this to be as good as a Smart, merely "inspired by".)
Here we're looking up at the Western Distributor flyover from Tumbalong Park in Darling Harbour. I was tossing up whether to use a shot which was completely devoid of people, or one which had a vehicle in it. However a Smart image rarely lacks at least signs of human habitation (if not an actual person), so I went with this one.
It would have been nice to have a somewhat faster lens to really freeze it though.
I was a bit lucky with the sky; later in the afternoon some hazard reduction fires (burning off material to reduce the risk of bushfires in the summer) caused a thick blanket of smoke to descend on Sydney.
