Piratic Flycatcher

Botanical Garden, Quito

Second record for the park and probably the same for the highlands in Ecuador.
Originally identified as Variegated Flycatcher based on the rufous in the wing and pale base
to the lower mandible. however, bill size and general shape of the bird is that of a Piratic Flycatcher.
The question is; where does it come from? Migrant from northern populations? In which case it is unknown in Ecuador (and South America?)

other sizes: small medium large original auto
