This is a 3rd Generation Colt issue of the 1860 Colt Army .44 caliber percussion blackpowder revolver, made famous during the Civil War. It is widely known as the "most beautiful" gun ever made by Colt.

This gun has the rebated cylinder which replaced the earlier fluted cylinder. It also has a 4th screw in the frame that allowed a sholder stock to be attached.
