It was sunny with patchy clouds on the first day we were there. After scoping the area and discovering what seemed to be a good point of view, I waited for almost two hours for the sun to just penetrate the clouds enough to shine like a spotlight more on the sanctuary but less on the surrounding area. Of course, the fact that the site itself is a little more lightly colored than the surrounding area helps, too.
