As luck would have it, it snowed the night before we got there and we were offered the most spectacular view of this majestic canyon. Even without snow, the best time to photograph this canyon is when the sun is low in its horizon. The color is magnified by the light reflected off the row of hoodoos in the front, as can be seen in the snow cover in front of the targeted row of hoodoos. The intensity of the color is simply marvelous.
