7. bench

- Dear Photo, really a nice bench you have chosen to sit down, it's my favourite!
"This must be more than 200 years old, and I love the colours of the walls"
-Photo, multiply by 10, and say 2000. And the colours are Gold and Blood, the ones of the Roman Empire.
"You mean as in "The Gladiator", the movie?"
- More or less, but we are not in a movie now [in fact we are on PBase, *wink]. And the writings are in Latin.
"Latin as in Latin America?"
-OMG! Latin is the ancient language Italian French Spanish Portuguese come from. We study it at school.
"And it's useful to... ya'll ?"
-In my opinion, a lot ;-))

Fabulous photo. I love the ancient engraved letters--those letterforms have stood the test of time. They are still the ultimate in legibility.

This is a beautiful shot. And the history is humbling.

Alea jacta est. You said it, this old bench is 2000 years old and still there. In 2000 years noone will sit on our knees anymore. Who knows if in that time there will still be humans here to sit on that bench, Adalberto. Life is a present made to us, but is it a good one...? Who said one day ; Timeo donnaos et donna ferentes ?.
Nice shot of a historical place.
