Garden Therapy

Just a little toil
Mixed with sun and soil
Makes a therapeutic balm,
Nothing else I know
Like my gloves and hoe
Brings such restorative calm.

Values re-arrange
And perspectives change
When I'm master of the sod.
There's a kindred tie
Between earth and sky
And I'm nearer there to God.

Mind and body, too
Breathe of life anew
And of nature's wealth avail.
With my hoe in hand
I can tame the land
And my restless soul as well.

Terrific comp here, and the poem is wonderful. And I love those retaining walls.

Lovely picture Shmuel and a good verse. I like how you have framed this with us being able to look deep into the garden at the gardener... this brings life to the image.

Fine image and verse.

There was a man working in his front garden when a priest came along.

The priest said, “What a beautiful garden. It is wonderful what God can do with a little help.”

The man replied, “You should have seen the mess he made when he had it to himself!”

Lovely garden and image. Fits the verse very well. Is that a mattock in your hand?
