here is the caption on the back of this photo: Got his Jap the Hard Way! - Marine 1st Lieutenant Robert Klingman, 28, of Ringer, Oklahoma smiles as he tells how he got his first Jap plane near Okinawa by chewing the tail off with his propeller. Klingman pursued the twin-engined photographic plane to more than 38,000 feet, believed to be the highest altitude a Corsair fighter plane with full equipment had ever been flown. Klingman's guns froze in the rarefied air and he didn't want the first Jap plane he had in his sights to escape. In three passes, his propeller, acting like a buzz saw, cut away the enemy plane's tail, rudder, and elevators. Klingman is now in pearl Harbor enroute to the Unite States for furlough and reassignment. 6/4/45
