70' Porsche 914-6, sn 914.043.0657 - 2007/Jun Sold $28,150

(June 10, 2007) Sold on eBay for $28,150

...Vehicle Description;

1970 Porsche 914-6 fully sorted with matching numbers. The exterior is canary yellow with black leatherette interior as per certificate of authenticity. The car has been fully sorted to excellent driver status and rust is not an issue with this rare and pristine California car. This is the six hundred fifty seventh 914-6 off the Porsche production line in February of 1970. Porsche only made 3,360 914-6 cars in a little over 2 years with only 1,700 cars shipped to the U.S. The paint was expertly handled a year and a half ago by renowned Orange County painter Jim East. There are no rock chips in the paint because the car has not been driven since it's paint job. This car gets serious attention at local prestigious car shows by people who know a nice car when they see one. Concours judges love to gaulk at it and you may need to walk away from it at shows because crowds do form. Not just any 914-6 owner can make that claim! Just open the engine lid and walk away.

Dash and original radio is in perfect condition. Everything is in working condition on this six because almost everything is new or rebuilt recently. The following items are new: rockers, bumpers and top rubber stips, valances, all lenses, all rubber seals, carpet has one year of wear, upholstery is new w/out wear. The engine has been rebuilt with only a few hundred miles. 911S cams installed last year. The fully detailed engine bay is picturesque and sanitary enough to eat off of. Brakes are all new, most aluminum trim is new and expensive, the windshield is new as well. Momo Prototipo steering wheel is new but the same steering wheel was a factory optional upgrade of 1970 914-6's. The certificate of authenticity calls for a (safety steering wheel?) as a special order for this specific car. So the Momo may be what they called the safety steering wheel. I don't know. The car also has new shocks and Polyurathane bushings, battery, original air box was just powdercoated, floor is solid and straight, no rust in battery tray or underneath it . The top has been repainted and all top seals are new at cost of $700.00. The dash and all interior bolsters are crack free. Exhaust is new as well! A second exhaust comes with the car for racing. It's stainless steel Dansk with 2 extra pipes like a 911 R. It's new as well!

Questions you may have? Q1: Do I have the manual, jack and tool kit? Manual yes, jack no and tool kit is available at an extra cost of $1400.00. Q2: Do those deep six wheels polished by Al Reed come with the car? For an additional $3,000. The car will be delivered with original 14x5.5 inch Fuchs alloys and also with 16x6 inch Fuchs both with 75-100% tread left. Q3: Do you have the footrest? Yes. It comes with the car. Q4: Why are the bumpers black and not chrome? The look of this car is very sporty with black and can be chromed if you desire. Q5: Where is the original front valance? It does come with the car but the look of the 74 914 Special Edition spoiler is so sweet. Q6: Why don't you have vinyl on the roll bar? Better aesthetics. But you will get a new vinyl kit and two new aluminum pieces to put back to original if you like. Q7: What happened to the side markers? They were shaved for a cleaner look. All of the wiring is still there though.

All modifications done to this car are easily reversable back to stock configuration. But even Southern California judges love the look of this preserved beauty. If you have any more questions please call or email me. I also have a concours condition 914-6 that will compete at the San Diego Porsche Parade. It is also yellow with 49K original miles. That one will be in the neighborhood of $45K available in July. I am a jeweler/ designer for Black Starr and Frost and Van Clef and Arpels and I have done work for hall of fame athletes and famous musicians but vintage Porsches are my passion. I am very meticulous and I am also very proud of my work.
